I ordered Philips touch-up pen trimmer HP6388 through online shopping from Amazon on ‘Amazon Prime day’ which was on 6th August 2020.  It was advertised under the Philips Sensel-Q series.  It was available for me under early access deals because I am an Amazon Prime member.  It was delivered by Amazon, within 6 days of order in good packaging and good condition, without any damage or defect to the product.

I did a Cash-on-delivery payment for this Philips trimmer.  I had paid Philips touch-up pen trimmer HP6388 Amazon price of Rs.1,449/- which was including tax and free shipping. The Philips trimmer was in good working condition at the time of receipt.

On the present date 04/02/2021, On Amazon App, Philips touch-up pen trimmer MRP is Rs. 1,595/- and the present deal price is Rs.1,224/-.

In this Amazon beauty appliance product review, I want to state my genuine views which are based on my online shopping experience regarding Amazon service and Seller service, which are as follows – 

On Amazon Prime Day 2020, Philips touch-up pen trimmer HP6388 was listed under the New product launch – Philips Sensel-Q series.  It seemed like a premium quality new product from the Philips brand.  The Amazon price was Rs.1,595/-.  The price is more or less the same in comparison with the premium quality and multipurpose Veet full-body trimmer.  I had placed an order on the 6th of august when it was under early access prime deals.  On the Amazon App, even today, the Seller has wrongly declared that Philips touch-up pen trimmer is an eyebrow, facial and body hair trimmer.  On the basis of the product price, I was expecting it to be a multipurpose hair trimmer with a superior build.  But I was highly disappointed after receiving the Philips trimmer.  

The following points were very disappointing about this Philips trimmer.

1.  It is not a Philips Sensel Q series premium product.  I think the           Seller had intentionally advertised it incorrectly to attract orders.  

2. On the product, only the Philips brand name is embossed, not Philips      Sensel-Q.

3.  On the Amazon App, it appeared to be a premium-quality beauty product.  As it was a new product launch, I was expecting a few advanced features in the trimmer.  But the original product is not made of superior quality material.  The touch-up pen is very lightweight and delicate and the trimmer body does not look durable. I feel it is not worth the price of Rs.1,595/- because it is not a multipurpose trimmer. It also appeared like an old and dull-looking gadget. 

4.  Philips touch-up pen is not even waterproof, the single trimmer head is not detachable, the precision head is not inclinable and not adjustable, trimmer head has a single blade and a single comb.  It is ideal for trimming and shaping eyebrows and for trimming facial hair.  The Seller has mentioned on the Amazon App, that it is also a body hair trimmer but it is not designed for trimming body hair.

And from this bad shopping experience, I have decided that in future, I will not place an order for any newly launched product.  I will prefer to wait for customer reviews.  On the new product launch day, as an Amazon Prime member, I paid Rs.1449/- for this Philips trimmer.  Today’s deal price is Rs.1224/-.  It is better to wait for the best deals.  There is no point in shopping on the exclusive Prime day.

The Philips beauty trimmer operates on a delicate single push button.  It is easy to use and operate with a gentle forward push.  The trimmer operation is very easy, to start gently push the On button forward, and the trimmer will start, to stop just push backwards.  The Philips trimmer operation is gentle and painless on the skin.  The sharp stainless steel blade gently trims the unwanted hairs from the skin surface, without any pain or skin rashes.  The trim operation is very gentle on the skin, trimming is precise and absolutely needs no worry regarding cuts or rashes on the sensitive facial areas.  The Philips touch-up trimmer is specially designed to trim hairs from sensitive facial areas like eyebrows, upper lips, sideburns and forehead and chin areas. The Philips trimmer does not get heated up with continuous use. It can be used continuously for 30 minutes without any problem.  To trim facial hairs from the upper lip, forehead, sideburns and chin, approximately 10 minutes is enough.  Trimming and shaping eyebrows can be easily done within 15 minutes. The steel blade does not hurt the skin in any way, the trimming action does not give any cuts or rashes on the skin, and there is absolutely no need to worry about that.  The tiniest hair is trimmed from the skin surface resulting in hair-free skin within minutes. I use Patanjali aloe vera gel on the skin after trimming to keep the skin soft.  

The biggest advantage of owning a Philips touch-up pen trimmer is that it helps to keep the face free from unwanted hairs, without assistance.  Trimming eyebrows without pain is possible at home,  anytime. Trimming sensitive areas like eyebrows and upper lip is painless and easy.  Touch up anytime, anywhere and be party-ready every day.  A small one-time investment of Rs.1300/- will surely help to reduce frequent beauty salon trips and expenses.  In my opinion, owning a Philips trimmer will help to save time, and money and will make facial hair removal a pleasant and painless experience.   

I own a Philips satinelle BRE200/00 epilator with superior built quality.  It is a durable beauty appliance which is in good working condition for the last 3 years.   But I have a doubt about the Philips trimmer’s durability because the product built is delicate and of low quality.  I did not expect this from a brand like Philips.

I have tried the threading method for eyebrows, upper lip and facial hairs earlier.  It is painful and results in skin rashes.  I own Veet multipurpose trimmer already.  But I Ordered a Philips touch-up pen HP6388 hoping it to be an advanced trimmer with better-built quality the Veet trimmer. But I was highly disappointed.  The Veet precision beauty trimmer is a truly superior, multipurpose and value-for-money beauty gadget. I am truly satisfied with the multi-use performance of the Veet beauty trimmer, which delivers what it advertises.  It is genuinely a multi-purpose hair removal gadget for women, which is safe, painless, time and money saver.  It is truly a durable beauty gadget that will work efficiently for at least 3 years if handled with proper care.

I will not recommend Philips touch-up pen electric trimmer HP6388 to the ladies. No, it’s not worth it. My advice will be to buy Veet multi-purpose precision beauty trimmer for full body hair removal needs. I will recommend the trimmer to the ladies who do not have time to visit a beauty salon and can try trimming at home.  I will recommend the Veet trimmer to teen girls who want to start hair removal, my genuine advice will be to please not use harmful hair removal creams and painful hot waxing methods, as it results in skin rashes after long-term use. Stop experimenting with different products on your sensitive skin instead try hair trimming.  It is advisable to make a one-time investment in the Veet trimmer and manage full body hair removal at home, on your own.  It will be a painless, rash-free, money saver hair removal method that will be truly beneficial in long term. Ladies who have sensitive skin and cannot try harmful hair removal creams and painful waxing can try using the Veet trimmer.  It will be a sensible investment that will take care of whole-body hair removal, which will make it a useful and value-for-money beauty gadget.
