Prestige Clip-On Kadai Pressure Cooker Review
I have been using Prestige clip-on Kadai pressure cooker for 1 year and 9 months. I like it for its stylish design and multipurpose usage. The stylish black colour Prestige pressure cooker looks beautiful when used for serving purposes. The prestige cooker’s capacity is 3.3 litres which is enough for 2 persons. As per quantity, 1/2 kg rice and 1 kg mutton can be cooked in it easily.
The Prestige pressure cooker made of hard-anodized material is black in colour which makes it easy to maintain. The black colour pressure cooker is easy to clean as there is no need to take extra effort to give it shine after cleaning like in the case of an aluminium cooker. I wash this pressure cooker using my IFB dishwasher Neptune vx. I have not seen any damage to the Clip-on lid and cooker because of washing using a Dishwasher.
The prestige cooker features a unique and stylish clip-on lid system, which is easy to use and provides maximum safety. On the clip-on lid, it provides 4 unique and advanced features for extra safety which are as follows –
The weight valve – The weight valve works as a control and pressure-regulating device to maintain correct pressure at all times.
The Pressure Indicator cum Safety Device – When the pressure inside the cooker starts building up, the pressure indicator gets pushed above the level of the lid handle. This indicates that the cooker is under pressure and ready for whistles. when the pressure indicator is up, it does not allow the cooker to open. Similarly, after cooking is over and the steam is released, the pressure indicator will drop below the level of the lid handle, which indicates that the cooker is safe to open.
The Secondary Safety Device – This unique feature works when the weight valve fails to function due to overload or blockage of the vent tube. When the pressure inside rises above the normal level and fails to release through the weight valve, that time the secondary safety device operates and releases excess pressure for providing safety. At that time gas flame should be put off and the cooker needs to be checked for the reason of vent blockage and weight valve dis-function.
Metallic Safety Plug (MSP) – In the most unlikely event of the weight valve and SSD failing to function, the fusible alloy in the safety plug melts to let out steam. This happens in case of the cooker has insufficient water or vent tube blockage. The fusing of the safety plug is indicated by steam vapour coming out of the knob insert.
A prestige clip-on pressure cooker is provided in multi-purpose Kadai style for pressure cooking, frying, boiling, steaming and serving purposes. The extra glass lid features a place useful to keep a ladle when it is used for serving purposes. After pressure cooking food, it can be further cooked in the same Kadai using a lightweight and see-through glass lid.
