I keep the Ugaoo zz plant in indirect sunlight for at least 2 to 3 hours every day and the rest of the time it is kept in a corner planter stand in my living room which has the lowest daylight. The water requirement for this plant is generally once a week. But it is ideal to water it whenever the top layer of the soil feels dry. I water this zz plant once a week in summer and once in 15 days in the rainy season. I do spray water on the leaves, once a week which helps to keep the leaves glossy, moist and clean. I ordered the Ugaoo zz plant through online shopping from Amazon. I had placed an order through the cash-on-delivery option. The package was delivered in good condition and in good packaging within 7 days of order. The cardboard container with a live plant appeared not to have any damage during the transit.
This was my 5th online shopping for natural live plants from Amazon. I had placed an order for the live zz plant. I had received it in a long rectangular box made of cardboard. Inside the box, a zz plant was packed within an 8 inches white plastic pot. The pot was covered with thin plastic but it did not help to keep the soil inside the pot intact. The glossy green leaves of the zz plant were fresh and the plant looked healthy. The stems of the zz plant were straight and standing. It reached my address in 7 days but the plant was alive and fresh. But after unboxing, I noticed that the soil in the pot was very dry, it had no moisture and so the dry soil had fallen out of the pot from the bottom side. The zz plant appeared to be a healthy, well-grown plant and was looking beautiful because of its glossy green colour.
I want to suggest the Ugaoo seller, put a temporary tape on the detachable plate below the pot, which will help to keep the soil intact inside the pot during the transit. I want to appreciate Ugaoo’s genuine efforts. They have really managed to deliver live plants through courier very well and also the plant’s health quality is also well maintained so that they survive in a completely new environment very easily for the next 1 year. Buying Ugaoo live indoor plants from Amazon is a total value-for-money deal.

In this Amazon live indoor plant review of the Ugaoo zz plant with self-watering pot, I want to state the following points, the live plant is beautiful, attractive and idle for home decor because it is low on maintenance. The green zz plant in a white plastic pot looks amazing and stylish. The idea of the self-watering pot is unique and I loved it. The seller has delivered the exact plant according to my order in good packaging and in healthful condition.
Ugaoo zz plant is an air-purifying and low-maintenance plant. The small, oval-shaped, glossy green leaves of the zz plant in its white pot add greenery and it helps to lift the energy of my living space. Most importantly it does not need a lot of attention. Just water it once a week and to see it survive and grow is really amazing. It is my 6th live plant from Ugaoo and I am really happy to have them in my living space.
For the first week, I kept this plant on my balcony. And after that, I started keeping it in the darkest corner of my Living area. This live plant with its small, oval-shaped foliage, looks beautiful and brings the place alive with its fresh green colour. I water it once a week. I also spray water on the leaves once a week. Extra water gets collected in the pot tray, which is used by the plant as and when needed. So this self-watering pot is really helpful, if you are away for a few days then the plant won’t suffer, as you can put water in the tray below. I found this self-watering pot idea unique and very useful. Every day, I keep my Ugaoo live plants in indirect sunlight for at least 4 to 5 hours.
On its first appearance, this indoor plant looked healthy. Its leaves were small, glossy dark green in colour on fleshy stems. After a week I was happy to see that the plant had survived well in the new environment. For its packing, the main stem of the plant was folded, and to fit it in the box, that stem was bent. To save that part of the stem, I used matchsticks with a rubber band to hold that stem straight, so that it heals itself. And that trick worked very well. After 15 days the stem was standing straight and the leaves were also fresh and alive. I am happy that I tried to save it.
The Ugaoo zz plant is a very slow-growing plant. I did not see any new growth for the first 2 to 3 months, but the plant was growing in height very well. From October-November 2021, new stems from the soil were seen growing and that made me happy. It’s March 2022 now, and one more new stem growth is seen in the soil. Now after 11 months, the plant spread has expanded and I am very happy to see that the plant is growing well. It is still healthy, with no dry tips, zz plant looks more attractive and beautiful now. All credit goes to the Ugaoo team, they really take good care of the saplings and nurture them well to grow into healthy plants. I did not do anything extra, just watered it once a week and kept it daily in indirect sunlight for 3 hours.
By observing this plant, I have learnt that it grows with a new stem every time. For the glossy dark green colour foliage, it requires indirect sunlight in abundance. So to maintain its beauty, water it once a week, keep it in indirect sunlight for at least 2-3 hours every day and mist water on the leaves once a week will help to prevent the drying of the tips.
The potting soil comes with slow-release fertilizer, which is really good. I do not have to worry about its nutrition. So regular watering will keep the plant healthy. I hope it survives well in future too. It has successfully survived for 11 months and it has not become root-bound. I will have to change its pot to a bigger size when it’s root-bound.
For the given price of Rs.599/-, I am getting door-delivery of a live plant with a self-watering pot, I find it’s a really good deal. A beautiful plant with a beautiful pot, delivered in good condition. To some, it may look like an expensive nursery plant. I feel that the Ugaoo brand provides us with indoor plants which are healthy, have good soil with slow-release fertilizers and a unique self-watering pot that helps them to survive and grow well in a new environment. Ugaoo brand’s intentions are pure and it shows in their genuine efforts to provide indoor plants through home delivery that survive during transit, and also survive well for the next 1 year without much effort from the plant’s parent. This price paid is worth it for a beginner like me. I have no regrets, get pure joy whenever I look at my healthy Ugaoo plants as a parent.
