Isha Yoga Center Suryakund
At the Isha Yoga Center in Coimbatore, Shri Sadguru has consecrated two Theerthakunds on the premises. Theerthakunds are energised water bodies. Taking a deep into Theerthakund cleans negative energy from our energy systems and helps to enhance receptivity towards Dhyanalinga’s grace. Isha Yoga Center has a Suryakund and a Chandrakund. The Suryakund is consecrated especially for Men so it is more masculine in nature. The Chandrakund is specially consecrated for Women. The Chandrakund is consecrated slightly with feminine energy. These water pools are energized by ‘Rasalingas’ which have been consecrated by Shri Sadguru. In Shri Sadguru’s words “Essentially, Suryakund and Chandrakund are energy pools that melt away karmic blocks and allow you to experience Dhyanalinga”.
The Suryakund is embedded 20 feet below the ground level. A descent of massive steps approaches this Theerthakund. This Suryakund contains 3 Rasalingas and lies underneath a stunning 20 ft brass and copper sculpture of the Sun.
Naga Shrine At Suryakund
Shri Sadguru says, “Naga is an important form in accomplishing physical resilience and mystical access. Venom can become the Elixir of Life in the Right Hands.” He also says that the energy of the Naga is Vyana Prana, which means that it has a preservation quality. It stops the ageing process, heals the body, and strengthens your defences against toxins and pollutants that enter your system through your food, breath and thoughts. Increasing one’s Vyana Prana also strengthens one’s immunity. Adiyogi wears Naga around his neck to symbolise how possessing Naga’s energy might make one a powerful being.
At the right side after entering Suryakund there is a small but energetically powerful Naga shrine. It is a powerful space with a beautiful black Naga statue that is consecrated by Shri Sadguru. A devotee can offer flowers, neem leaves and dhoopam to this Naga. After taking holy deep in the Suryakund, a devotee should visit the Naga shrine to touch the statue and take his blessings. Then proceed to Shri Linga Bhairavi Devi Temple and the Dhyanalinga Temple.

How To Take A Deep In Suryakund
To make the best use of the consecrated water body, Suryakund, follow these steps. Before visiting the Naga Shrine, Shri Linga Bhairavi Devi Temple and the Dhyanaling Temple take deeps in the Suryakund. Keep all your belongings safe in the cloakroom. Only carry a bag with a towel and a pair of fresh clothes to wear after the deep. On the left side there is a Ticket Counter, pay entry fees and collect your coupon. Show your entry coupon to the Volunteer sitting at the entrance and collect an orange lungi. Suryakund is divided into 2 parts, the bathroom area and the main Suryakund area. Go to the Bathroom area. This Bath area has Western, Indian Toilets and shower rooms. There is a dry changing area at the end of this Bathroom. Racks are standing to keep your bags of clothes. There are wash basins and a lungi washing area near the bathroom. Taking proper deeps in the Suryakund involves 3 steps.
Step 1 – Remove All Your Clothes
There is a dry changing area in the Bathroom. Remove all your clothes including underwear. Wear the lungi around your waist which is provided to you. Keep your clothes safe in your carry bag. Place your carry bag on the racks provided in the bathroom.
Step 2 – Take a Shower
Yes, you have to take a shower first, before taking deep in the Suryakund. Suryakund has 3 ‘Rasalingas’ in the middle of the water body. Keeping cleanliness is very important to maintain sanctity in the Suryakund. It is just like entering any holy Temple. It is every devotee’s responsibility to follow all the given rules. Only wear the orange colour lungi and take a cold shower from head to toe. Do not wipe yourself after taking the shower. Wearing this wet lungi go to the Suryakund area.
Step 3 – Take Deeps In Suryakund
Wearing the wet lungi, go to the Suryakund area. Keep your hands free. Suryakund is built 20 feet below the ground level. You will see massive steps descending towards the Suryakund. You will instantly feel the cool air around the Kund and you will hear the soothing sound of fresh water falling into the Suryakund. Just looking at the water body your mind will feel the freshness. On the left side, there is a metal railing. Hold it and go down those massive steps. You will see sparkling blue water in line 3 ‘Rasalingas’ in the middle of the Suryakund. These 3 Raslingas are standing in the water. You will see a waterfall on the main wall in the middle of the Suryakund. This water continuously falls into the Suryakund making splashing sounds and spreading coolness into the surroundings. You have to enter the Suryakund from the left side, slowly move towards each ‘Rasalinga’ and touch the ‘Rasalinga’. Stay there at least for 5 minutes and come out from the left side again. You can take a bath for a little more time beneath the waterfall, it is extra refreshing.
The Suryakund water is too cold. It is an energised water body. When you enter into the Kund, your body will start shivering. The body will leave all its excess heat into the Kund water. If you do not know swimming then be careful. It is difficult to stand on your feet inside the Kund. Because of the waterfall, the water has a force and it pushes you every time. So you have to hold onto something to stand firmly on the floor. From the left side, you have to move towards the ‘Raslingas’. It will look difficult but it is not. Take help if needed, from any experienced devotee taking deeps in the Suryakund. You can easily move towards the centre with taking help of the sidewalls. Touch the ‘Raslingas’, hug it, and feel a connection with the divine. Let all your negativity from the physical body, mental body and energy body go into the Suryakund. Feel the freshness. See that you deep your head inside the water at least thrice. Allow other devotees to touch the ‘Rasalinga’. Stay there at least for 5 minutes. Stand below the waterfall for a few minutes. Take the same steps and come out of the Suryakund.
Like this with the wet body, climb the steps slowly, again from the left side. Go to the Bathroom area. Wipe yourself dry. Wear new clothes. The lungi that you were wearing, wash it using the big tub provided at the wash area and keep it in the drying area. Take your carry bag. Come out of the Suryakund area. Keep your carry bag in the Cloakroom, along with your belongings. It is time to visit the Temples. First, visit the Naga Shrine, then the Nandi Statue, Shri Linga Bhairavi Devi Temple. Next to the valuable counter, steps are taking you towards the Orientation area. Go inside the Dhyanalinga Temple, do offerings and meditate for at least 15 minutes. you will experience that after the holy deeps, your body is cool and light and your mind is fresh and happy. You are divine, you are surrounded by divine, you are sitting in front of the divine Dhyanalinga and you will become meditative naturally.
