Isha Hatha Yoga Offline Program/Class
Isha Foundation and Isha Hatha School of Yoga offer an Isha Hatha Yoga teacher training program which is designed by Sadguru. Through this residential program, Isha Hatha School Of Yoga offers classical hatha yoga in its full depth and dimension. The trained Isha Hatha Yoga Teachers offer the same classical hatha yoga to everyone by conducting private classes in various parts of India.
I attended Isha Hatha Yoga class for the first time in my city. Here, I am going to share my experience regarding Isha Hatha Yoga Class through this post.
Isha Hatha Yoga Surya Kriya Offline Program Registration
The Isha Hatha Yoga Teacher, Shri Kaulina Rudra conducted Isha Hatha Yoga offline program at Z-Square Hotel, AC Hall, Vasco, Goa. This program offered various Isha Hatha Yoga practices like Angamardana, Surya Kriya, Bhastrika Kriya, Bhuta Shuddhi and Shanmukhi Mudra. All these Isha hatha yoga programs are not free, you have to pay registration fees for the same. I had registered for 4 days Isha Surya Kriya program which was scheduled from 22/3/2022 to 25/03/2022, timings were 6.30 am to 8.30 am. I registered online for the Surya Kriya program and paid fees of Rs.2500/- using Google Pay. The Isha hatha yoga program registration and online payment process were easy to understand.
Isha Hatha Yoga Surya Kriya Program Venue Set-Up
The 4-day Isha hatha yoga Surya kriya program was conducted in a small air-conditioned hall. That hall had a divine ambience. Carpets were set all over the floor, in front of us, in the middle, there was a Sadguruji’s Photo, a lamp, a few flowers were placed and a divine dhoop scent was in the air. On the right side of Sadguruji’s photo, a big screen was set up for videos and on the left side, there was a sit for the hatha yoga teacher. There was a total of 6 participants in this program, 4 ladies and 2 gents. We were sitting on our personal yoga mats forming 2 lines. The yoga hall’s ambience was divine enough to be meditative and receptive. Sadguruji’s divine presence was experienced through his photo, videos and also through the hatha yoga teacher’s presence.
Tips – Carry your own yoga mat to the class. Prefer a pure cotton yoga mat with a rubber grip on the other side. Many options of organic and cotton yoga mats are available on ishalife website. Along with a yoga mat do order a yoga mat cover, it will be helpful to carry the mat to the hatha yoga class easily. No need to carry a water bottle. It is advisable not to drink water during or right after the hatha yoga classes. No need to take notes of the yoga instructions. Attend hatha yoga class on an empty stomach, prefer taking bath before going to the class. Always be seated 15 minutes before the session starts. Before every session, just surrender yourself to the Guru’s energies and attend the yoga class with a sense of devotion, willingness and 100% involvement.
What Is Isha Surya Kriya?
Isha Surya Kriya is a powerful yogic practice that activates the Sun within. Surya Kriya is a potent yogic practice of tremendous antiquity, designed as a holistic process for health, wellness and complete inner well-being. Isha Surya Kriya strengthens the physical body, enhances the focus of the mind and activates the energy body.
Isha Surya Kriya Benefits
Isha Surya Kriya is a powerful yogic practice that boosts vigour, and vitality and maintains hormonal balance. Prepares one for the deeper states of meditation. Regular practice of Surya Kriya strengthens the spine and overall physical body and also improves flexibility. Surya Kriya also helps to improve the focus of the mind and improves sensitivity to experience the energy body.
What Happens During Isha Hatha Yoga Surya Kriya 4 Sessions?
In these Isha Surya Kriya sessions, the hatha yoga teacher taught us how to sit in Ardhasiddhasana to attend any hatha yoga program. We learnt and practised 3 preparatory asanas, Patangasan, Shishupalasan and Nadi vibhajan.
Isha Surya Kriya Steps
We learnt and practised the 21 steps of Surya Kriya. Each posture is practised with fixed breathing counts. 2 of the postures require fluttering of the breath. Also, we practised imagining our energy body doing each Surya kriya step with 100% perfection along with the physical body movement. We learnt and practised Sushanti Meditation 3 cycles and Uddyana Bandha 3 cycles.
The whole Surya Kriya yogic practice includes the following steps.
1. Preparatory Asanas
2. Surya Kriya 21 Steps – 1, 3, 6, 7, 9, 11, 12 cycles
3. Sushanti Meditation – 3 Cycles
4. Uddayana Bandha – 3 Cycles
1st Session – We learnt and practised Ardhasiddhasana. We learnt and practised the first 7 steps of Surya Kriya.
2nd Session – We learnt and practised the next 7 steps of Surya Kriya and then the last 7 steps of Surya Kriya. We practised 1 complete cycle of Surya kriya for the 1st time.
3rd Session – We practised Surya Kriya in 3 cycles. We learnt and practised Sushanti Meditation in 3 cycles We learnt and practised Uddayan Bandha in 3 cycles.
4th Session – We learnt and practised to imagine the energy body doing Surya kriya with 100% perfection along with the physical body. We practised Sushanti Meditation in 3 cycles. We practised Uddayan Bandha in 3 cycles. In the second and third Surya kriya cycles, we had to practise on our own without any help from the yoga teacher. This session ended with guidance related to Surya Kriya’s regular practice at home. We had a question-and-answer session. We also clicked a few pictures with the Hatha Yoga Teacher and the program ended on a happy note.
How Isha Hatha Yoga Teacher Conducted 4 Sessions?
The hatha yoga teacher made use of Sadguruji’s recorded videos to explain to us what is Surya Kriya, its benefits and its significance. He used demonstration videos of Isha Yogi to teach us the Surya Kriya Steps. During these Surya Kriya demonstration videos, each demonstrated posture was followed by the yoga teacher’s clean and clear practice instructions. The hatha yoga teacher told us how to correct our wrong postures or how to enter correctly into a posture using separate correction videos. The teacher also used separate videos to help participants with flexibility issues, to help themselves and get into a posture very comfortably. Because of these various types of demonstration videos and his clear instructions, learning and practising Surya kriya became an easy process.
The highlight of this Hatha Yoga Program is that it is very well designed. Only 1 yoga teacher efficiently managed to teach Surya Kriya with its benefits. We received proper guidance to improve each posture. We received quick instructions about the next step during the practice. We received good support from him and got answers to all our questions.
Our Isha Hatha Yoga Teacher Shri. Kaulina Rudraji’s instructions were very clear and his presence was peaceful. His guidance was very helpful. He managed a happy ambience throughout the program. This helped us to learn and practice with 100% comfort. Shri Kaulinaji managed a divine ambience in the hall. Learning, practising, correcting mistakes, remembering each instruction and getting answers to questions felt easy just because of his experience. He was peaceful, balanced, joyful and confident throughout the program because of his experience and his devotion. I felt he is exactly the way an Isha Yogi should be. Tips – Be respectful towards the hatha yoga teacher, do exactly what he says and be devoted to the learning process. Do not take notes of the practice instructions during sessions. 2 handouts related to Surya Kriya’s steps will be given to you on the last day. In my opinion, after 5 days of regular practice at home, you will not need the help of that handout.
Isha Hatha Yoga Surya Kriya Offline Program Review And Experiences
In this honest review, I want to share the following personal spiritual experiences and important tips, with a deep sense of gratitude towards Sadgurji and the Isha Hatha Yoga Teacher.
After completing the Isha Inner Engineering Completion Online Shambhavi Mahamudra Kriya Online initiation program. I wished to learn Isha Surya Kriya. I learnt about Surya Kriya through Sadguruji’s Youtube video that it is a complete yogic practice that helps to progress on physical, mental and spiritual levels. So I was interested in learning about this practice. I came to know about this Isha Hatha Yoga Program through Shri. Kaulinajis Instagram advertisement. I was so excited to know that the Isha hatha yoga program will be happening in my city, so close to my place. I immediately contacted him on the given Whatsapp mobile number. I asked him about my queries first and then only I registered for this offline program. Through the given link, which landed me on the Instamojo page, I registered to fill in basic details and paid the fees using Google pay.
I have health issues like, my left leg nerve getting numbed after 20 minutes of sitting in Ardhasiddhasana and then the leg starts paining. Because of Vaata and Pitta doshas, with little extra workouts, I feel body pain. I am 42 years old now and my body is not flexible anymore. So when I registered for this program, I was doubtful whether I will be able to practice Surya Kriya postures with perfection. My 1st problem was that I was worried that if my left leg starts paining then I will be unable to practice continuous cycles of Surya Kriya. My 2nd problem was that I was worried that I will be not able to remember 21 postures, breathing techniques and all the instructions. Also, I felt that I will practice Surya Kriya easily here in the program but what if I forget the steps during my daily practice at home. Before registration, I had discussed my flexibility issue with the teacher. He advised me to learn Surya Kriya. He said the regular practice flexibility will improve automatically.
In every session, I had to sit for a while and had to stand and do the practice so the left leg did not pain too much. I managed it well. On the 2nd day when I practised 21 postures of Surya Kriya for the first time, that day I experienced body pain. With Sadguruji’s grace, I managed to practice 3 cycles of Surya Kriya without any major body pain on the 3rd and the 4th day. I am truly happy that I managed to learn Surya Kriya despite leg and body pain problems.
My second problem was memorizing all steps and instructions. I realised at the end of the 4th session that by Sadguruji’s grace the powerful yogic practice got recorded in my memory. This Isha Hatha Yoga Surya Kriya program is so well designed that even a beginner can learn very easily.
Tips – Learn Isha Hatha Yoga only from trained Isha Hatha Yoga Teachers. Because they are authorized by Sadguruji to teach Isha Yoga in its purest and deepest form. One part is learning the yogic steps, another part is receiving this knowledge with the Sadgurji’s grace so that it gets recorded forever in the system. Both things are equally important. Watching a youtube video and learning the practice is one thing, but learning it in a live program, through a trained teacher, is a divine experience. You may copy the technique by watching it online, but 100% involvement, and 100% devotion can only be achieved through personal experiences, like being in the divine ambience, being in the presence of Guru energies, being in the presence of the Isha hatha yoga teacher. When you experience their devotion and involvement, you too become like them. That is the importance of being in the present and attending the program to learn a yogic practice. Along with the yogic practice, it is equally important to learn the way the teacher is devoted and the way he is involved in the process, only then the learning process will be complete.
I experienced Sadguruji’s grace throughout the program. In my honest opinion, it happens only when the teacher is completely devoted to the process and becomes a medium of Gurushakti.
While learning Surya Kriya, my body and mind were saying, you will not be able to practice this. This will pain, that will pain, you will not be able to remember everything. But my final experience was completely opposite to all my fears. Because of Sadguruji’s grace, the powerful practice with all instructions and details was recorded in my memory, despite all my fears and this is Magic. I realised this magic when I practised 2 cycles of Surya Kriya on my own on the last day. During that practice, I may have not done postures with 100% perfection, my practice was not perfect but I remembered all steps and all instructions. My body is not flexible to do the postures 100% perfectly but whatever was offered there got recorded in my memory and that happens only with Guru’s grace. I questioned the Teacher, How will I remember all these instructions? He had said “don’t worry, you will remember everything” and yes that came true.
Tips – Surrender yourself to Guru energies before every session. Keep calm and attend every session with devotion and 100% involvement.
In the last session, we practised imagining our energy body doing Surya Kriya with 100% perfection. the 1st benefit of imagining an energy body is that with every imagination of the perfect posture of the energy body, my physical body is encouraged to bend 1/2 inch more towards perfection every time. The second benefit is that my physical body cannot practice postures with perfection due to flexibility issues. When I imagine my energy body doing postures with perfection, my practice becomes guilt-free, the guilt that I cannot practice with perfection. I imagine my energy body doing perfect postures, which gives 100% satisfaction and confidence that I am practising Surya kriya with perfection every time and that feels great.
In my opinion, Surya Kriya is a complete yogic practice that offers physical strength, mental focus and sensitivity to experience the energy body. Everyone should learn Isha Surya Kriya with the intention to make it a part of daily practice. Do register for Isha Hatha Yoga offline programs happening in your city and learn Isha Yoga practices.
Isha Surya Kriya’s daily practice of 3 continuous cycles with Sushanti Meditation 3 cycles and Uddayan Bandha 3 cycles, takes approximately 1 hour. If you are busy, then you should at least practice one cycle. From the next day of the program completion, I am practising 3 cycles of Surya Kriya and which takes approximately 1 hour. I do not experience any body pain after the practice. I remember all the steps and instructions very well. I am confident that with regular practice, I will achieve perfection. I am also confident that the regular practice of Surya Kriya will deepen my experiences with Isha Shambhavi Mahamudra Kriya.
Tips – First do Upa Yoga, preparatory asanas, Surya kriya cycles, Sushanti meditation 3 cycles, Uddayan Bandha 3 cycles and then practice 21 minutes of Shambhavi Mahamudra Kriya. If you have not done Isha Inner Engineering, no problem, you can do Isha Hatha Yoga programs first. Our Isha Hatha Yoga Teacher is providing after-program support through his Whatsapp no.
Youngsters will learn this practice very easily. If you are already practising Surya Namaskar then you will learn Surya kriya very easily. If you are above 40 and do not have any major injury, pain, or spondylitis then do register for this Isha Hatha Yoga program. I have learnt this powerful Surya Kriya, so you can learn it too, do not hesitate to give yourself a chance.
