When I decided to visit Isha Yoga Center Coimbatore in May 2022 for the first time, I had no one to look up to for proper guidance. Isha Yoga Center offers a private taxi service from the Coimbatore Main Junction railway station and Coimbatore International Airport, at reasonable prices. I learnt about this taxi service from the Isha Foundation’s official website. Isha’s Travel Desk is open 24 hours. This is how I managed to do online taxi bookings. Visit the Isha Foundation website. On its Homepage, from the main menu choose ‘Centers‘. From the ‘Centers’ drop-down list choose, ‘Residental Centers (Ashram) – Isha Yoga Center‘. How To Book A Taxi Through Isha Foundation’s Travel Desk
Booking a tourist taxi through Isha Foundation’s Travel Desk involves the following steps. Send an inquiry email to travel.desk@ishafoundation.org. To do an online taxi booking, sending an email to them is compulsory. In your email mention your pick-up point, number of travellers, travel dates and pick-up and drop time. Ask about their AC and Non AC Taxi fares. Wait for their reply. Isha travel desk works 24 hours and it will reply to your mail within 24 hours. Isha Travel Desk’s reply email will contain Taxi fares and booking confirmation. Booking an online tourist taxi using the Isha travel desk is a very easy task.
Tips – You can make pick-up and drop inquiry in the same email. Do not expect a taxi booking confirmation call from the Travel Desk. Fully trust their booking confirmation done through email. Their taxi driver will call you, a day before in advance to confirm your visit and pick up time.
Isha Taxi Booking Service Review
According to my first travel plan, I booked railway tickets from Goa to Coimbatore Main Junction Railway Station. I booked Railway tickets for both ways, for the departure and return journey. In my inquiry email, I mentioned my travel dates, no. of passengers, pick-up and drop points etc. I wanted to book a Non-Ac Sedan Taxi for pick-up and drop points. Within 24 hours, I received a reply to my inquiry email. That reply email contained Taxi fares for Non-AC Taxi with booking confirmation. I did not receive any booking confirmation call from the Travel Desk. Booking an online tourist taxi through Isha Travel Desk was a good experience.
My pick-up time on arrival at Coimbatore railway station was around 2 pm. My pick-up time for departure was around 5 pm from Isha Yoga Center. After 15 days I changed my travel plans. I booked flight tickets from Goa to Coimbatore International Airport. Immediately I replied to the same email thread, which had taxi booking confirmation. I informed isha Travel Desk about my new travel dates, pick-up time and new pick-up place. The travel desk was very cooperative. They did not ask for any explanation. On my new request, they cancelled the previous taxi booking. This time I had asked booking for an Ac Sedan from Coimbatore International Airport to the Isha Yoga Center. I received a reply to my email within a few hours. Their reply email this time had AC Sedan fares with booking confirmation from the new pick-up point.
Tourist Taxi Fare From Coimbatore To Isha Yoga Center
Tourist Taxi fare from Coimbatore to Isha Yoga Center is as follows – Non-AC Tata Indigo Taxi fare from Coimbatore Main Junction Railway Station to Isha Yoga Center Welcome Point was Rs. 850/-. AC Sedan Taxi fare from Coimbatore International Airport to Isha Yoga Center welcome point was Rs. 1300/-. These taxi fares were charged in the month of May 2022.
On 8th May 2022, my flight arrival timing at the Coimbatore International Airport was 7.50 am. That day our Indigo flight landed at the Airport on time. My Isha Taxi booking time was 8.30 am. I remember very well, on 7th May 2022 at around 8.30 pm, I received a call from the Isha Taxi Driver. He confirmed that we are coming to Coimbatore. He told me to giva him a call after landing at the Airport. After landing, we had a cup of Tea outside the Airport arrival gate area. After waiting for a few minutes, I made a call to the Taxi driver and informed him that we have arrived and waiting at the Arrival gate. He asked us to wait for 30 minutes. He came to the pick-up point before 8.30 am.
The Isha Taxi driver knew the local languages and a little bit of the English language. He did not know to speak the Hindi language. He picked us up from Coimbatore airport on time. 8th May was a Sunday morning, so traffic was less on the road. We reached the Isha Yoga Center by 10 am. He said because of less traffic on Sunday, we reached in 1 hour and 30 minutes. Rest of the days, due to high traffic, it takes a minimum of 2 hours to reach the Isha yoga Center from the Airport. The Driver anna was a good person, very polite and cooperative. He is a very well-trained driver and had good knowledge about the route.
It was morning time and we were hungry, he first took us to the Adiyogi Statue area. There is a South Indian restaurant outside the Sarpa Vasal entrance. It is a clean and good place to have fresh and hot South Indian delicacies. The driver waited for half an hour till we had a nice breakfast. We enjoyed having a tasty and healthy breakfast at this Restaurant. After eating breakfast, the driver dropped us at the Isha Yoga Center’s welcome office point. This Taxi drop point is just behind the Isha welcome office. I paid him a Taxi fare of Rs.1300/- in Cash. Actually, I wanted to make an online payment using the Google Pay app. He had a google pay payment option on his phone. At the Isha Yoga Center welcome point, the Vodafone network was unavailable, so I had to make payment in cash.
On little inquiry, the driver told me that he owned that tourist Taxi. Isha travel desk offers us this Taxi service by using services from the Tourist taxi operators from that area. I am thankful to the Isha travel desk for offering a tourist taxi service at a reasonable price. Their service is prompt and trustworthy. As a first-time traveller to the Isha Yoga Center, I reached there on time safely without any problem.
Isha Yoga Center Coimbatore To Ooty Hills Station Tourist Taxi Service Review
On our return journey, we wanted to visit Ooty hills station by road. I cancelled my return taxi booking from Isha Yoga Center to Coimbatore International Airport. I called the Isha Travel Desk to inform them about it. I requested them to book a Non-AC taxi for us from the Isha Center to the Ooty Hills Station. The Isha volunteer told us that such a service is not available. Isha Yoga Center offers a Taxi service to pick up and drop off guests only between the Center, the Railway station and International Airport. Luckily I had that Driver’s mobile number saved on my phone. I called him and requested him to arrange for a tourist taxi drop to Ooty hills station. That day a different person answered my call. But he arranged for a Tourist Taxi within 30 minutes. We booked a tourist taxi on our own, from the Isha Yoga center to the Ooty hills station for Rs.3500/-. By road journey from the Isha Yoga Center to Ooty church hill road was very safe. We left the Isha Center by 1.30 pm and reached Ooty by 6.30 pm. It took us so much time because we had lunch and a tea break on the way. Otherwise, it is 4 hour journey. Ooty is the nearest hill station to Coimbatore which offers nature with super scenic beauty, a beautiful lake, beautiful botanical gardens, tea gardens and lots of other tourist activities.
