Taking a deep into Theerthakund cleans negative energy from our energy systems and helps to enhance receptivity towards Dhyanalinga’s grace. Isha Yoga Center has a Suryakund and a Chandrakund. The Suryakund is consecrated especially for Men. The Chandrakund is specially consecrated for Women. The Chandrakund is consecrated slightly with feminine energy. These water pools are energized by ‘Rasalingas’ which have been consecrated by Shri Sadguru. In Shri Sadguru’s words “Essentially, Suryakund and Chandrakund are energy pools that melt away karmic blocks and that allow you to experience Dhyanalinga”.
Chandrakund is embedded 30 feet below the ground level. This Theerthakund is approached by a descent of 32 massive steps. It is built with gigantic granite stones and vaulted by a colourful mural depicting the Mahakumbha mela.

How To Take A Deep In Chandrakund
To make the best use of the consecrated water body, Chandrakund, follow these steps. Before visiting the Dhyanaling Temple take deeps in the Chandrakund. Keep all your belongings safe in the cloakroom. Only carry a bag with a towel and a pair of fresh clothes to wear after the deep. At the Chandrakund Entry Counter, pay entry fees and collect your coupon. Show your entry coupon to the Volunteer sitting at the entrance and collect a bathrobe with a shower cap. Chandrakund is divided into 2 parts, the bathroom area and the Chandrakund area. Go to the Bathroom area. This Bathroom has Western and Indian Toilets on one side and shower rooms on the other side. There is a dry changing area at the end of this Bathroom. Racks are standing in the middle, to keep your bags of clothes. On the left side of the entrance, there are wash basins. The bathrobe washing area is on the right side of the bathroom entrance. Taking proper deeps in the Chandrakund involves 3 steps.
Step 1 – Remove Clothes
There is a dry changing area covered by a wooden partition at the end of the Bathroom. Remove all your clothes including your bra and panty. Wear the bathrobe provided to you. Keep your clothes safe in your carry bag. Place your carry bag on the racks provided in the middle of the bathroom.
Step 2 – Take a Shower
Yes, you have to take a shower first, before taking deep in the Chandrakund. Chandrakund has a ‘Rasalinga’ in the middle of the water body. Keeping cleanliness is very important to maintain sanctity in the Chandrakund. It is every devotee’s responsibility to follow all the given rules. Only wear the orange colour bathrobe and take a cold shower from head to toe. Wear a shower cap and cover your hair completely. Wearing a tight shower cap on your head will ensure that your hair will not fall inside the Chandrakund. Do not wipe yourself after taking the shower. Wearing this wet bathrobe and your shower cap, go to the Chandrakund area.
Step 3 – Take Deeps In Chandrakund
Wearing the wet bathrobe and the shower cap, go to the Chandrakund area. Keep your hands free. Chandrakund is built 30 feet below the ground level. You will see 32 massive steps descending towards the Chandrakund. You will instantly feel the cool air around the Kund and you will hear the soothing sound of fresh water falling into the Chnadrakund. Just looking at the water body your mind will feel the freshness. On the right side, there is a metal railing. Hold it and go down those 32 steps. Stand on the right side of the Chandrakund. You will see the ‘Rasalinga’ in the middle of the Chandrakund. It is inside the Kund. You will see a waterfall on the left side of the Chandrakund. This water falls into the Chandrakund. You have to enter the Chandrakund from the right side, slowly move towards the ‘Rasalinga’ and touch the ‘Rasalinga’. Stay there at least for 5 minutes and come out from the left side. You can take bath for a little more time beneath the waterfall.
There is a metal ladder inside the water, on the right side. Take the help of the ladder and descend slowly into the water. The Chandrakund water is too cold. It is energised water body. When you enter into the Kund, your body will start shivering. The body will leave all its excess heat into the Kund water. If you do not know swimming then be careful. It is difficult to stand on your feet inside the Kund. Because of the waterfall, the water has a force and it pushes you every time. So you have to hold onto something to stand firmly on the floor. From the right side, you have to move towards the ‘Raslinga’. It will look difficult but it is not. Take help if needed, from any experienced devotee taking deeps in the Chandrakund. You can easily move towards the centre with taking help of the sidewalls. On the centre of the side wall, there is a small shrine. To that shrine, one thin rope is tied, use this rope as a support to stand inside the water. With the help of this rope try moving at the centre. Touch the ‘Raslinga’, hug it, and feel a connection with the divine. Let all your negativity from the physical body, mental body and energy body go into the chandrakund. Feel the freshness. See that you deep your head inside the water at least thrice. Allow other devotees to touch the ‘Rasalinga’. Stay there at least for 5 minutes. Then move towards the left side. From the centre, return to the side wall first. Move towards the left side. Stand below the waterfall for a few minutes. Take the help of the metal ladder and come out of the Cahndrakund.
Like this only, with the wet body, climb the 32 steps slowly, again from the right side. Go to the Bathroom area. Wipe yourself dry. Wear new clothes. The bathrobe which you were wearing, wash it using the big tub provided at the wash area. Wash your shower cap. Keep the bathrobe and shower cap in the drying area. Take your carry bag. Come out of the Chandrakund area. Keep your carry bag in the Cloakroom, along with your belongings. It is time to visit Dhyanalinga Temple. Next to the cloakroom, there are steps taking you towards the Orientation area. Go inside the Dhyanalinga Temple, do offerings and meditate for at least 15 minutes. you will experience that after the holy deeps, your body is cool and light and your mind is fresh and happy. You are divine, you are surrounded by divine, you are sitting in front of the divine Dhyanalinga and you will become meditative naturally.

My Experiences At The Chandrakund
During my first visit to the Isha Yoga Center, I offered Linga Seva in the Dhyanlinga Temple. Taking a deep in the Chandrakund was compulsory, every day, during this Linga Seva. I am sharing my experiences below
I do not know swimming. So I am afraid of water. For the first time, when I entered Chandrakund using the ladder, I felt the water was too cold for me to handle. Because of that cold water, my heart started beating very fast. I was so fearful at that time. The water was moving and it was pushing my body. My feet were able to touch the floor, inside the water. But I was not able to stand firmly on the floor. I was afraid to leave my hands free and swim in the water. I took the help of the side walls and moved towards the centre. I was afraid of leaving my support and pushing my body towards the ‘Raslinga’. A devotee was standing near the ‘Raslinga’. She was an expert swimmer. She noticed my fear, smiled at me and offered to help. It was such a divine thing. She held my hands and took me towards the ‘Raslinga’. I was so happy, I touched the ‘Raslinga’, it was too cold. I felt vibrations throughout my body. I was so happy, I stayed there for 5 minutes. You have to touch the ‘Rasalinga’ with both your hands and allow it to work on your body. Taking shower beneath the waterfall was so refreshing and a wonderful experience. I came out of the Chandrakund, from the left side. I offered many thanks to that lady, because of her, during my first visit, I managed to touch the ‘Rasalinga’. I offered to volunteer for seva, 2 times at the chandrakund. Guiding devotees inside the Chandrakund was a happy and good learning experience for me.
Taking deeps in the chandrakund was a refreshing and blissful experience. It made me receptive towards the Dhyanlinga’s grace. Completing Linga Seva was my best and most divine experience. Since then, I am living my life more consciously, practising sadhana with more devotion and involvement. I wish to learn to swim now so that I can handle myself in a better way inside the Chandrakund. Now I have applied for the Sadhanapada Program 2023. I am looking forward to staying at the Isha Yoga Center for 7 months program. I am so much excited and waiting for my application’s approval.
Tips – Do not wear heavy makeup, lipstick or body deodorants before going for deeps. See that your body and hair are clean before entering the Kund. If you know swimming then you will enjoy every deep into this Kund. People with mobility issues like severe knee pain and joint pains should avoid going to the Chandrakund. There are 32 steps which are massive and a little difficult to climb. For ladies who have heart problems or high blood pressure issues, it is better to just sit on the side walls and get yourself wet using your hands. Ladies who are afraid of water, use the same trick. Just deep your feet into the cold water and take water on your body using your hands. Play safe inside the Chandrakund and also take care of the other devotees. If you are a perfect swimmer, do offer help to other devotees, to reach the ‘Rasalinga’. Read the ‘DEATH’ book written by Shri Sadguru. It explains the importance of staying at the Consecrated spaces and making use of them to blow one’s karmic bubble thin.
