Netram Arpanam – My Experience
On the second day of Navratri i.e. 16th October 2023, I completed the Netram Arpanam ritual by offering 1 Copper Netram. I had done an online payment of Rs.330/- for one Copper Netram. I offered it personally at the abode of Linga Bhairavi Devi temple located inside the Isha Yoga Center, Coimbatore. I had registered for the 9.00 am batch. Netram Arpanam can be offered at the Devi’s abode between 9 am to 12 pm everyday.
On the 16th October 2023, since it was 2nd day of Navratri, I first offered Devi Abhishekam on 7.40 am batch. Before 9 am I visited Devi Temple office to collect the Copper Devi Netram. The Copper Devi Netram was kept in a small red bag and given to me. I was told to carry it in my right hand. Then I went inside the Devi Temple.
The process to do Netram Arpanam is very easy. Sit comfortably in Ardhasiddhasana on an Aasan, inside the Linga Bhairavi Devi Temple. Hold Devi Netram which is inside the Red bag, in your right hand. Hold palms in Brahma Mudra, so that your left palm ib below your right palm. In your right palm, hold Netram. First pray to Devi appealing her to fulfill your one deepest desire. After prayer just close your eyes and chant Linga Bhairavi Stuti for 3 times. Do the chanting gently and clearly with deepest devotion towards Devi. After chanting open your eyes, get up and go and stand near the Devi Sanctum. One of the Yogini present there, will tell you to offer Netram in the basket which she is holding in her hand. Once again bow down to devi and offer Netram in the basket. The Yogini will offer Netram to Devi by offering mantra to devi which goes like this – ‘ Savinaya Tava Pavana Mahashaktirupe Netram Samarpanam’. She will keep the Netram inside the Devi abode. This is the whole process to complete the ritual.
I sat on the right side of the temple manadapam on my Asana. It was around 10 am and inside the temple Linga Bhairavi Stuti Chant was playing on loudly in Sadgurus voice. Inside the Devi temple one is allowed to chant in a gentle voice. I sat in Ardhasiddhasana, holding brahma mudra. I first prayed to Devi and appealed her to fulfill my wish. Since I do not know Linga Bhairavi Stuti, I used the pamphlet and did chanting along with the Sadguru’s chant which was played there. I completed Stuti chant 3 times. I went near the Devi’s abode. One Yogini confirmed that I have completed the Stuti 3 times. Then she told me to offer Netram in the small basket. With an appeal she offered Netram to Devi on my behalf. I saw that it was kept near the Devi’s abode after offering. After completing the ritual I went back to Temple office again. I informed them about the completion of the Netram ritual.
Following Purnima is coming on the 28th of October 2023. So the Temple office has told me to come on 2nd of November and collect the Netram in person as I am a resident of Coimbatore.
