I ordered a River crepe designer maxi dress in February 2021 from Amazon through cash on delivery service. Amazon delivered the River maxi dress in a good package and in good condition within 4 days of the order. The Maxi dress’s Amazon price was Rs. 961/- which was including tax and free shipping. MRP Rs. 3,499/- was printed on the Brand’s label. The Seller has delivered the River dress in the exact colour, size and style as per my order. The River dress appeared to have a defect on the backside, near the waist. A few black stains were visible on the jet-black design fabric. The Seller has sent this defective dress knowingly, that’s the reason the price was too less for a designer dress. I am disappointed with the Amazon and Seller service this time. I ordered a designer wear and hoped to receive a unique, good quality dress but a defective piece was delivered.

In this Amazon designer dress review of the River maxi dress, I want to state that I had a lot of expectations and excitement. I ordered a designer dress from Amazon for the first time. But I was extremely disappointed this time. I did not return it, because I got it for Rs.961/-, so thought of using it as daily wear at home.
The River dress was received in good packaging. It was packed properly in a black colour River’s branded bag. The seller has delivered a dress in the exact colour and size. I received a beautiful and unique Jet Black dress in medium size.
The main confusion is that, on the Amazon App, above the product pic, the product description, is mentioned as a Crepe designer dress. And in the detailed product description down, it is mentioned as 100% viscose material. I am still confused about the exact material type. To be honest, I just know that it is a different, unique fabric with a unique print, its free-flowing, soft and synthetic type. The fabric looks different and beautiful in its jet-black colour. The black-coloured border on the sleeves, on the V neckline, on the waistline and on the down flare looks stylish and attractive.
The River maxi dress features a unique style, unique design, unique fabric, unique print and overall a winning look. This stylish dress is a full-length maxi dress with a full-length inner lining. The unique fabric, I don’t know whether it is crepe or viscose, but it is lightweight, free-flowing, soft to the touch and good for winters because it is 100% synthetic material. It provides full coverage with no side slits.
The River brand is a designer dress. I expected it to be a perfect fit. This medium-size dress is a little loose for the medium size above the waistline. Below the waistline, it fits properly and has a flare as it goes down. It has a zip closure on the left side which runs from below the shoulders to a little down the waistline. Because of this zip closure, alteration for an exact fit is not possible.
About the unique deep V-neck, it is deep and provides low coverage. The V flap on the front panel with a black border looks beautiful but it is completely open, without buttons or stitches. It opens easily to make it feel extremely uncomfortable. I have altered its front neck by stitching it and closing the flap for comfortable wear. And also I have stitched it up to the half of the neckline to make it high coverage neck from the front side. The back side is a high-coverage neckline.
The River dress is easy to wear and remove because of its side zip closure. The synthetic material is lightweight and it is easy to wash. The synthetic material flows with the body all day long. This dress is easy to wash. I wash it in my fully automatic washing machine under a delicate wash program. It has not released its colour since it is a synthetic material.
At the time of my purchase, the Amazon price of this River dress was around Rs.1200/-. Today in the month of June 2021 it has decreased to just Rs.543/-. One more colour option in the same design i.e. Olive Green is now available for just Rs.793/-. The price has surprisingly come down for these designer dresses.
River dress looks beautiful and stylish, but the fitting is not perfect and the V neckline is uncomfortable because it is open. And it has a defect, a stain on the backside just below the waistline. I am extremely disappointed with this dress. I would have loved it if it had no defect, at least the fitting would have been perfect.
